The Toll Gate girls volleyball team had something to prove this year in Division 4 play after a disappointing season last year. The Titans stormed into the playoffs ranked 4th in the division and a 9-11 record. The team is led by Senior Mary McNulty, a St. Joseph’s College of Maine commit, along with Arielle Harpin and Nixa Simono. Toll Gate dominated Woonsocket in the quarterfinals in straight sets, a huge confidence boost in the first round of the playoffs. It was the same story in the regular season against the Villa Novans, as Toll Gate swept them in both of their meetings. After starting strong with a 4-2 record and wins against North Providence, Blackstone Valley Prep, and Woonsocket, the Titans experienced a tough 1-5 mid-season stretch. They showed their resilience with an impressive finish to the season to finish 9-11 and earn a spot in the playoffs. The season is not over yet, and the Titans will face the 1 seed Central on November 6.
