K-9 Haki Visits Toll Gate!
K-9 Haki and Officer Lipka
On January 17, 2023, Toll Gate had some special visitors, K-9 Haki and his partner, Officer Lipka, from the Warwick Police Department. They were invited by Mr. Sollitto to discuss the K-9 program with his class. Since 2020, K-9 Haki has been a member of the Warwick Police Department. K-9 Haki is certified in patrol work, narcotic detection, and handler protection. Officer Lipka and K-9 Haki had to complete a six months training in order to be able to work together as partners. K-9 Haki is a four-years-old German Shepherds. This breed is a common choice for police dogs for they are fast, highly intelligent, have a strong bite and excellent senses especially eyesight, hearing and smelling. The students loved meeting K-9 Haki and are happy that he is a member of the Warwick Public Department.
