On April 24, 2025, the Toll Gate senior class went on their first senior trip, a trip to Fenway Park in Boston. The seniors went to watch a baseball game between the Boston Red Sox and the Seattle Mariners. It was an afternoon game and the day was marked with wonderful warm weather and lots of sunshine. The game ended with a score of four to three for the Mariners and featured three home runs.
The seniors were able to enjoy shopping and food in the city of Boston before heading over to the game and enjoying the afternoon. Those who participated in the senior trip were able to experience the thrills of Fenway park in all its splendor. After a long and tiring day, the students wound up hungry. Luckily, they found themselves in the heart of Boston’s famous baseball stadium. Students were invited to try Fenway Franks, soft ice cream served within a souvenir Red Sox hat shaped bowl, and fresh doughboys.
The students sang “Take me out to the Ball Game” and “Sweet Caroline” together and made long lasting memories. A few Toll Gate students were even able to be featured on the jumbotron during the dance offs.
A Toll Gate senior, Emma Hindle, shared a bit of her experience on May 24 “The game was really fun. I enjoyed spending time with my friends watching baseball and eating hot dogs.” Emma is a prolific baseball fan and has listed baseball as one of her passions. Emma enjoyed the trip immensely.
Overall, the seniors which took part in this Red Sox senior trip thoroughly enjoyed themselves, tried delicious food and bonded with their fellow classmates. The students were happy to have Mrs. Laplante-Beauchemin as an advisor as she was able to arrange such a thrilling senior trip. We cannot wait for the second and final senior trip coming up on June 11.
