Looking to get more involved in your community and bring a meaningful impact? Civic Minds with Heart, a new project under the Student Civic Leadership Program hosted by the Rhode Island Department of State, is here to inspire positive change in the hands of the youth. This group was founded to encourage civic engagement, especially spreading knowledge about the local government and the importance of bringing people together. Whether you’re passionate about community service or just want to explore how you can make a difference by making small steps, this club is the perfect place to start.
“Civic Minds with Heart is about bringing people together to create real change,” said Jaylene Le, co-founder of the club. “We want to show that everyone has the power to make a positive impact, no matter how big or small their actions might seem.”
An added bonus of joining this club is community service hours – a crucial part for those planning to join the National Honor Society (NHS), and adding to your high school transcript can always be helpful! Although there is no social media presence yet, Civic Minds encourages anyone and everyone interested to join! To those interested, please reach out to Mr. Sheehan ([email protected]), Rebecca Farias ([email protected]), Estherangelica Santana ([email protected]), or Jaylene Le ([email protected]).
Attend the next meeting to learn more and get involved! Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be part of something bigger. Join Civic Minds with Heart and start changing your future today!
