Toll Gate girls soccer team is officially in the playoffs. With moving up a division, and a rough start to the season this year, we picked up a sense of the game and how to work better together than individually. Having a young team, mostly made up of freshmen this year, has been a change from previous years. Star freshman, Emma Mclyntre, has been a force to be reckoned with up top as our leading scorer. Another freshman starter, Emerson Fallow, is a huge help to the midfield line. With determination to score along with getting back to defend. These girls had to step right into a game with girls who are only known for success, we can both say that they do their job every game. It has been a stressful season. With being on the team for four consecutive years, and this being our senior year, having the amount of losses we have was a change that we needed to learn how to adapt to. The team as a whole pulled through to ensure a playoff spot. With one regular season game left, it is a must win. Losing our last game can put us down in the ranking which we cannot afford. Currently we are placed at the eighth seed, we need the seventh otherwise we play an extra game and the winner of that game will play the number one seed. Having two championship appearances, the last two years in a row, the expectations are high. Not only from the coaches but from many players as well. Will the underdog team be able to dig themselves out of the hole? And ensure a successful run in the playoffs? I guess we will find out!
