As seniors get the last signatures on their yearbooks, it has made many of us stop and think. Yesterday felt like third grade, playing off the wall at recess, and now being proud of ourselves to walk the stage at graduation. It is unfathomable to think that one day will be the last day for us to walk down the halls, into a class, and hit submit on an assignment. I have to convince myself that this is the last of it, and I will not be school shopping for September. I remember as a junior, I didn’t think saying goodbye to Toll Gate would be so difficult. But never seeing some of my friends or even teachers again is a hard goodbye to do. High school really does fly by. The Career and Technical Center has shaped mine and others high school careers. I spent two years in the automotive program and my senior year in the Academy of Business and Marketing. Both programs have taught me independence and responsibility. If I have to walk away with one lesson it is, I do not need to be hundred percent sure of my future as long as I am open to learning something right now. The CTC goes beyond textbooks and shows students lessons of life and a future within a career you are passionate about. The teachers have demonstrated the importance of loving the job you go to and understanding everything about it. I have been able to earn a multitude of certifications which only help me succeed out of school. I can guarantee my future employer that I bring the workplace valuable skills and knowledge. These teachers have seen us grow from immature freshmans to young adults. I can leave high school doing things vicariously through the lessons of all my teachers who have had something amazing to say. As I hit submit on my final assignment, I have realized, this is it, my final steps, and now I can walk the stage. Congratulations to everyone graduating, and incoming seniors.
Thank You, CTC! The final steps…Walking the stage
