Recently, our school encountered a series of unfortunate events that caused significant damage to our facilities, particularly impacting the English and foreign language classrooms on B3. While the flood on B3 damaged some classrooms, the library was spared from direct water damage. During the cleanup process following the flood, a transformer in the library malfunctioned, leading to a fire that resulted in extensive smoke damage.
The effects of the smoke extended beyond the library, affecting neighboring rooms and offices as well. Special education offices, along with rooms belonging to Mr. Hayes, Mrs. DeMarco, Mr. Sollitto, and Mr. Kozusko, were among those impacted by the smoke damage. The damage’s severity necessitated the library’s closure as cleanup efforts continued, with particular attention given to addressing the lingering smoke dust and restoring the affected areas to their original condition. Despite the setbacks, the resilience and determination of our faculty, staff, and students shine through as we work together to overcome these obstacles and restore our learning environment to its full capacity.
As we navigate through this recovery period, it is crucial to recognize the dedication of all those involved in the cleanup and restoration efforts. Their tireless work behind the scenes ensured that we reopened the library and resumed normal operations. In the face of adversity, we remain united, and steadfast in our commitment to overcoming challenges and emerging stronger as a school community.
