Gossip Girl, a show on HBO, has drama, romance but most importantly, gossip. In this article, I am going to discuss the crazy plot lines and relationships established at just the PILOT, the overlooked parts of the show and lastly, the juiciest gossip to look forward to when deciding whether or not to watch the show moving forward.
——INTRODUCTION (SPOILER OF EPISODE 1 & 2) ——
Gossip Girl starts off with Serena van der Woodsen, one of the most influential and interesting characters the show has to offer. You’re probably wondering… why is this important? Well, due to Serena’s rebellious and impulsive decisions she nearly RUINS her friendship with her best friend Blair Waldorf, daughter of one of New York’s most famous fashion designers. And just take a guess how she did that; by STEALING HER BOYFRIEND and causing him to cheat on Blair. This is all only in the FIRST EPISODE of the series. However, instead of settling things, she runs off to a boarding school, randomly coming back without warning. As you’d expect this angered Blair. (You’d be mad if your best friend stole your boyfriend right?) So Blair plotted to destroy Serena and sabotage her interactions with anyone beneficial to her reputation or social standing. Due to her sudden disappearance and reappearance months later, the public speculates her whereabouts and why she left, immediately making her the center of upper east-side gossip. Serena also caught the eye of the one and only Chuck Bass.To make things clear, Chuck Bass, son of Bart Bass, one of the most powerful names in the upper east-side, is the womanizing best friend of Blair’s boyfriend, Nate Archibald. Only in the first few episodes does he attempt to assault a freshman girl. Little did he know this girl was Dan Humphrey’s sister, Dan being the soon boyfriend of Serena Van der Woodsen. He may go to school with these upper east-side brats, but he’s actually a normal working class citizen, going to school on a scholarship. Since arriving at school he’d taken a liking to Serena. If this doesn’t peak your interest, I don’t know what will.
——MY OPINION ON THE SHOW & FINAL THOUGHTS —-
This show overall, in my opinion, is one of the best drama tv shows I’ve watched. It has everything I’m personally interested in which includes drama, romance and more drama. Of course I may be biased with my opinion since I’m writing an article telling you the reader to watch this show. I ultimately do recommend this series. The book version is also a very great alternative to the series if you are looking for other ways to learn about the show. This show will make you feel like you are the one going through half the situations good or bad. It always keeps me on my toes everytime I click to watch another episode.
